So, what is the Caganer? It's a little figure that appears in the nativity scene in Catalunya and València. It's a man or a woman, hidden in the woods, that is making its needs. Here is very special and popular and it appears in every house. The typical one is a man with a "barretina" (it's a red hat, it looks like Santa's hat but without the white part) and with farmer's cloths. But, in the last years, have appeared some new types of Caganers: you can find Obama, or Michael Jackson, or even Homer Simpson doing his needs. Here you have one of the pop queen, Madonna!!!
Youtube: a very big corporation that has arrived to near every part of the world. It's one of the most visited pages in the whole internet. But... why do people go on Youtube? Because there you can find a lot of things: from music videos to tutorials about how to make a birthday cake. Everybody goes there for their reasons, but why do I go on Youtube?
I principally visit it to listen to music, to look for lyrics and... to watch different channels! Yes, I confess, I love a lot of youtubers, maybe they aren't the most famous but they do a great job. My favourite youtuber is My Manny Mess, he is a Galician boy, more or less 20, with a lot to say. That's why he makes videos, to show to the world his opinions and to have fun, too. He started doing videos two years ago with only some hundreds of subscribers, but now he has 30 thousands! He does a great job, with not only opinion, he does challenges and tags. And... something with music, too. That's why I'm writing about him. One of his best videos (in my opinion) is a playback video of "Misery Business" from Paramore. He did this video not only to have fun, but to criticize the people that don't respect the copyright because there are a lot of these. So, here you have the video and the lyrics of the song. And another thing: I HAVE MET HIM THIS SUMMER IN THE SUMMER PLAY TOU FESTIVAL! So I'm very happy because I had the chance to meet him and I could talk to him and we took some photos:)
It's nearly Christmas, and it's that time of the year: presents, big meals with the family, Santa Claus, or "Els Treis Reis"... But, what day is it the 28th of December? The day of the jokes, when you can tell everybody a lie and stay as quiet as always. One of my plans for this day is to declare to the boy I like, because if he doesn't feel the same, I can tell him it was a joke;) Let's go back to the main theme...
This day is very funny for us, but it has a history, it's something very sadist and terrifying. You may be religious or not, but I'm sure you have heard about the "Massacre of the Innocents". It happened (or maybe it's just an old story) in the year 0, when Jesus Christ was born, in the 24th of December, and the king Herodes knew he was going to change everything, because he was god's son. So he gave the order to kill ALL the children under 12, even if they did nothing, so he killed 20 innocent children, just because he was fearing Jesus Christ's power. But, he didn't get his goal, because he killed every little boy and girl less Jesus.
So this day isn't very funny, but there's a lot of people that doesn't know its history.
Beyoncé was born in 1981 in Texas, USA. She appeared in music TV programmes when she was a little girl, but she started being famous with her band "Destiny's Child". They were three girls (Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams) and their band was very famous, they sold more tan 60 million copies. But in 2005 they separated and she started her solitaire career. She has become one of the best singers in the world. We can describe her as a strong and independent women, and even she has had a child, she has a good shape. One of her songs is called "Beauty hurts" and it's about her story: when she was a little girl, she participated in beauty pageants, and in these type of programs, normally the girls are pressed to be cute and to have a beautiful and thin body. So she wrote the song to protest against these competitions, and the video clip is very interesting and it gives you a lesson: the body is nothing but an image, so don't worry about it!
She is married with Jay-Z, a famous rapper form America, and they have got a beautiful little girl, Blue Ivy Carter.
We just wanted to explain some things about this woman, and maybe you like her songs, too! Here you have her newest, maybe it hasn't a lot of sense, she just made it to have fun;)
Get out of here and go to buy some things, because today is the Black Friday. Just a day after Thanksgiving, in the U.S.A., there's a massive movement, and a lot of people gets out of bed at midnight to go to any big mall (for example, Target) and buy everything they can. All the prices go down, even up to 90%. But these big sales are very wild, because all the people runs and hits each other. So be ready and don't get nervous, because you must be strong to buy something on a Black Friday! But... let's think a little more: the day before, the Thanksgiving day, all the Americans have a big deal to say thanks for all they have, and the day after they start buying things they really don't need. So this is a very consumerist day.
My tip: don't buy everything, just what you REALLY and TRULLY need. And have a great weekend!!!

So we are very proud of our work and of your visits and comments! At the start we just wrote to have great grades but now we are writting because we like it. We love to express ourselves by these entries, and to show you what we like (even if you don't care;P). And your support is the best thing.
We can talk about what we want to, we can listen to music if we work and we can comment and read other blogs, so that's so funny! And our classmates are very good and nice, they don't talk very loud and we can work quietly.

Glee! A beautiful TV serial, seen all over the world, for a lot of teenagers. Our blog is about music, yes I know that, and Glee is about music, TOO. Glee is the synonymous of music. It started with some teenagers in a high school, and how they expressed theirselves with music. There were only some geek teens, until the quarterback, Finn Hudson, joined the club. He had a secret gift: he sang like the angels. As it's normal, his girlfriend was the cheerleader, and they were the most popular couple in the high school. But in the Glee Club he met Rachel, a clever girl who wanted to be a star (her idol is Barbara Streisand). So The Glee Club taught them a lot of important lessons in life, in every episode they give you a secret message, for example: how to fight against bullying, or how not to be homophobic... And in every episode there are a lot of songs.
The last year, Cory Monteiht (known as Finn) died and they made an episode to remember him. Here you have some of my favourite characters:
-Brittany S. Pears: her name is very similar to Britney Spears no? She is very weird, she says very strange things, but she has a lot of talent.
-Sam Evans: known as "Trouty Mouth". He worked as a streeper to get money for his family, but The Glee Club helped him and now he wants to be a model.
-Ryder: he is one of the newest integrants of the club, and he has dislexia, he always had problems with the school, and that was because of his mental illiness.

Would you like to celebrate the Thanksgiving day but you don't know what to cook? Here you have some ideas:
-The turkey: it's the main dish, and it can't miss. But you can cook it a lot of different ways: with pork in the interior, with oranges, with chile... But be sure that your turkey is not frozen, so take it away from the freezer some hours before you cook it!
-Something like sweet potatoes, or glazed carrots.
-And the dessert: a sweet pumpkin cake that makes everybody want to repeat!

Do you know why almost every family in the United States celebrates Thanksgiving? Do you even know what is it? Let me explain it to you:
Maybe you watch "The Simpsons", an American TV serial, famous all around the world. so they made an episode to explain this special celebration. It says the British people from the seventieth century ran away from their country because they didn't like how the religion was and they didn't want to be poor anymore. So the Mayflower ship left Plymouth and it arrived to Massachusetts. The native Indians welcomed them and they were very nice. So they were the first inmigrants to go to the U.S.A. To celebrate they were good and happy then, they made a big dinner, with a lot of delicious food. Since then, every year all the families in the U.S.A. meets and has a big meal with a lot of food.
The thanksgiving day is the fourth tuesday of novembre, and the next day, is "The Black Friday". What is it? It's a day with a lot of descounts, and every mall is full of people who wants to buy things for Christhmas. So, maybe you aren't American, but you can celebrate this day, too!
Coldplay is a pop rock band from Londres created in 1996. Chris Martin is the singer, Jon Buckland plays de guitar, Guy Berryman plays the bass and Will Champion plays the drums. They met in the university and they started writing songs. At the start, as every music band, they only played in little bars or parties. But, they made their first CD, and they sent some copies to different discographies. Only 50 of the 500 were able to be sold, so now this CD is very important. Their first famous song is "Yellow", and after this a lot of other songs came: Parachutes, Trouble, Magic, The Scientist, Paradise...
They write very beatiful songs, about love and these are ones of my favourite lyrics:

You may know who Jennifer Lawrence is, Katniss in "The Hunger Games", some rumours say she has been dating Chris Martin, but no one said it was true.
Tonight
in some countries all around the world, there’s a very big and important
tradition: The Bonfire Night. A lot of British people, tonight, will make
bonfires to celebrate it. But… when did this special day start?
There
was a big conspiration to kill the protestant king of Great Britain, James I of England. And Guy Fawkes
was the boss of this plan. He wanted to kill the king because he was very bad,
but he was arrested and the king wasn’t killed. So, to celebrate this, every
fifth of November, they made big and spectacular bonfires to burn mini-Guys. I
mean, dolls that represented Fawkes. Everybody was obligated to do that and to
support the king, so the celebration wasn’t only in Great Britain, it extended
to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some parts of America.
They
also make big meals, with typical food: caramel apples, jacket potatoes, and
the bonfire toffee (I’m sure that tastes very well).
If
you haven’t got nothing to do tonight, you can eat some bonfire toffee and
watch the famous film of “V for Vendetta” while you imagine yourself living
that big adventure.
Do you know what day is the next Friday? The night of the monsters, the ghosts, the witches, the fear... It's HALLOWEEN! It's that night of the year, when you can get out the streets and be what you want to be. But... where does this famous festivity come from? The legend explains that is a very old Celtic tradition. The 31st October, the line between death and life got thinner. So the people who died, came back to the Earth and spent a few hours with their families. It's so scaring, because all this happened in the cemeteries!
Another thing! Do you know what "Halloween" means? It's "All Hallow's even".

Miley Cyrus was born in Tennessee in 1992. She is a pop singer and an actres en she became famous because of her paper in Hannah Montana. But now she doesen`t work for Disney Channel. Since 2010 she has changed her ways. She cut her hair and she wears the clothes she wants to. Her songs have changed a lot: now she writes about her business and her songs are a little bit wild. For example: the most known song of her is about how she goes to parties and gets drunk. Her actual tour is called Bangerz and in it she appears in short clothes and riding a big hot dog (YEAH! that's so weird!)
Maybe you know who is her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, because he wrote a very famous song called “Achy Breaky Heart", that is even heard now.
A lot of people thinks Miley is a bad example for the teenagers, but that's not really true. Her songs are about life's problems (including love, the family...) ans how she gets through them. So try and listen to her.
Montse, our teacher, said we could talk about a group called "Antony and the Johnsons" and here's my opinion:
I didn't know about them so I decided to look for some songs to know how they sing and I found this one called "Hope there's someone" (by the way, I had already heard it but I didn't remember it) and I liked it very much. I mean, I read the lyrics and I felt something, the weird thing is that a tear dropped off my eye and I think it's because I liked the song very much.
So, this group sings art pop and chamber pop and they started singing in 1998. We can describe Antony's voice (the singer) as an angry sea with a lot of waves, because it goes up and down. The other members play different instruments: piano, cello, violin, guitar, the drums...
Their second album, called "I am a bird now" was released in 2005 and they collaborated with the famous Lou Reed and other singers like Boy George.
I wanted to tell you that everybody listens to different music, so maybe you like this group or maybe you don't, but we always must respect all the opinions and all the tastes, so I hope you all do this and have a great day!
She was born as Elizabeth Grant in 1985 in New York and her family was very rich and fine-situated. But she started drinking at the age of 14 and her parents sent her to a rehab hospital. A lot of her songs are based in her problems and they explain how was her life with alcohol in it. Her first famous song is called “Video games” and the video clip was made with a web cam.
She has got many tattoos (‘die young’, ‘M’, ‘trust no one’ and ‘paradise’) and her songs have become very famous all around the world. You may know a film called “Malefica”, so, her song “Once upon a dream” is on its soundtrack.
Here comes my opinion: Lana’s songs are usually the perfect ones to lay on your bed, put on your headphones and do nothing but listen. I love her lyrics and I wanna show you a few ones:

Hello to everybody who has visited our blog! We thank you so much what you are doing because that's what makes us to want to continue with this and to write more and more. We saw people from the United States watching our entries and we are very happy! We really like to comment and to express our opinions about songs and music in general, because we think music is one of the most important things in life. It's what keeps us alive and what teaches us things that we didn't know about ourselves. Music can take us to other places, to meet other people and to feel different things.
When I try not to think about my problems I always listen to music. And music helps me with that. And when I'm alone at home and I need to feel something, I listen to music. Because music is my drug.

This is our first entry and we're very excited! We wanna share with you our favourite songs and our opinion about them. Maybe you won't like it or you won't care, but that's our work. So, each entry will be written by each one of us. We are two girls (Diana and Diana) and we like different music, so you can choose between a lot of songs.
Today we wanna show you a song that we like very much. It's called "You've got time" and it's from a TV serial from Netflix: Orange is the new black. It explains how life is in a women's jail. It's based in a real story, so it's more interesting and mysterious. The main character, Piper Chapman, has lived a wild youth, but now she is a good person, so she wants to pay for her mistakes. She decides to go voluntarily to the jail for one year. She must "fight" to survive and she discovers herself. There she meets a lot of different people, and she changes her ideas of what's good and what's bad. There are a lot of different girls: Red, Crazy Eyes, The Queen Vee, Poussey, Dayanara...
This story shows you what happens in a jail, and it's very funny!
